Founder and CEO of Integrative Healing Center, and a native of North Carolina, Karen graduated with honors from Queens University in Charlotte North Carolina. Subsequently, she received her Masters in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a concentration in clinical mental health, and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Karen is also a Strategic Relationship, and Leadership coach, having completed an accredited coaches training with a concentration in Neuroscience and the utilization of client character strengths.
She enjoys working with adults who are committed to personal and spiritual development.
With over 20 years of clinical experience, Karen holds certifications in Family Mediation, the Internal Family Systems model of psychotherapy, and facilitating the Enneagram Model of Transformation. She has also served in the role of assistant trainer to teach other therapists the Internal Family Systems model of therapy for the Center for Self Leadership in Chicago, Illinois. Her writing has been featured in Today’s Charlotte Woman magazine, and she has been hosted on WFAE Radio.
Along with Karen’s honed skills and ability to see the big picture for developing a roadmap to the resolution you seek, she will work with you to mastermind an efficient use of the time you spend with her to overcome the issues keeping you from happiness. Utilizing the latest in neuroscience research, as described by her clients, Karen’s style is methodical, results driven, empowering, laser-focused, compassionate, educational, and interactive. She works to draw out the inner strengths and resources of her clients, and teaches them how to identify, and play to those strengths and True Self, which is the place of biggest opportunity and abundance individually and in relationship.
Karen enjoys working with adults (men and women alike) on issues that include developing a deeper sense of happiness, developing the relationship of your dreams, discovering your strengths, and how to apply them to turn challenges in your life into opportunities. Bicycling with her husband, Tom, riding horseback, playing with her two dogs, and gardening are activities Karen pursues when not working. Her avocation is studying cross-cultural healing practices of indigenous peoples, and creation spirituality.
